MDCS Kindergarten 2007 / 2008

Dear 2007 / 2008 Kindergarten families,

          MDCS Kindergarten has had a super successful 2007 / 2008 school year! It is amazing how much all the children have grown. We have truly enjoyed each and every one of the precious learners in this year's kindergarten. Thank you for attending our end of the year ceremony and performance of Jim Henson's Rainbow Connection. Thank you for giving us this opportunity to be their teachers. We look forward to seeing them grow and learn for many years to come. Have a terrific summer exploring, discovering, and reading reading and reading!

 Kindergarten's 2007 / 2008 expeditions where entitled:

Part I: A Creative Discovery of Craft- an exploration of local appalachian and       

Native American craft. Students explored storytelling, dance, music, pottery, jewlery,candle making, sewing, kung fu, and much more.

Part II: A Year In The Life Of The N. American Black Bear- an in depth investigation of characteristics, behavior, history, and future of The North American Black Bear. Students also explored and compared black bears with Grizzly Bears and Polar Bears.    

Part III: Crafty Creatures- an investigation of a variety of animals that have a talent for building their own habitats.   

          We are excited to share a glimpse of a day in the life of kindergarten.
