The flower children pause for a group photo....
The text below is an excerpt from our press release about the trip. A great time was had by all. What do you learn from going camping, touring a cave, and hiking into a water fall in Linville Gorge? These are some of the questions MDCS’s 4th and 6th grade asked as they took their geology studies outdoors on a two day camping trip to the Linville Falls area, April 24th, and 25th. Students looked at how caves and waterfalls formed and also saw how humans impacted an area through erosion and soil compaction. At the campsite students cooked their own meals and helped set up tents. Before starting the trip back home, students reflected on the trip by writing in their journals and participating in a half hour solo.
