Science Labs
6th – Star stories. Each student pair picks one constellation, researches the stories behind that constellation, writes a story of their own (shape can change), and shares any meaningful celestial body which may be a part of that constellation (nebula, galaxy, etc.) Question: why aren’t planets included in any constellations?
7th- 7th Lab: Draw a map of the US from the world climate map on page 178, 179. Shade in the various climates found in the lower 48 states (No HI or AK needed). Make a key like the one to the left of the map. On the back of the map, or the front if there is room, provide descriptions like the ones at the bottom of the page for Tropical Rainy, Dry, Temperate Marine, Temperate Continental, Polar and Highlands. This may be done on one blank sheet of printer paper. Provide colored pencils.
8th – Skills lab, page 658: Where’s the evidence? Visible evidence of chemical reactions, parts 1 and 2. Analyze and conclude. |
