Dear Parents,

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach your wonderful children this year. We have had a busy, fun year. All of your children have such creative and inquisitive minds. They have all shown improvement throughout the year. The little first graders that started last August are all mature second graders ready for third grade.

The summer is the perfect opportunity to continue to build all the skills they learned this year. They brough home some Math workbooks. They could "play school" while working in the books. Summer is a perfect time for them to keep a writing journal of all the cool activities they participate in each day, or each week. Be sure your children read daily and discuss the stories with them. There are very good children's programs at both the Jackson County Library and the Bryson City Library during the summer.

I hope you all have a wonderful summer! I will be thinking of you often and looking forward to seeing you back in the fall. Thank you for all of your support this year. Your involvement has made this an easier year for us, and an ejoyable one for the children!
