Thank you for your interest in MDCS. Please take some time to visit the classroom webpages and see what our students are doing. When you arrive at a classroom page, be sure to click on the teacher's name to read about them. The School Overview page has some good background information on our school and charter schools in general. Be sure to check out the minimester and the outdoor education links to see the unique enrichment opportunities we offer our students. Please do not hesitate to call our school office with any questions you may have. Our second open enrollment period ends on May 30th. All forms received before then will have the same chance to get a spot in the school. Over enrolled classes will be filled by lottery. Follow the instructions below to complete a registration form. We need a completed registration form in the school office to reserve a spot for your child.

You may follow this link, save the form to your computer, complete the form, and email it to: ghorn@mountaindiscovery.org You will not be able to fill out the PDF version of the form. Follow the link in step three to get to the Word document designed for online response. Use only the PDF for hardcopy submissions.
From the East: Take Highway 74 to Bryson City Exit 67. At the end of the exit ramp, head right into town. Go to the second stop light and turn left onto Highway 19W. Continue on Highway 19 approximately a half a mile to the Ingle's Super Market. Directly past Ingle's, turn left onto Hughes Branch Road. Follow Hughes Branch Road for eight tenths of a mile and turn right on the asphalt driveway, marked by the Mountain Discovery Charter School sign. (The driveway looks like a private driveway.) Turn right and follow the drive to the top of the hill. From the West: Turn left after you take exit 67. Follow the above directions.
