This year, our six week open enrollment period runs from April 5 through May 14. All forms received during open enrollment will have the same chance to get a spot in the school. Over enrolled classes will be filled by lottery.
Please follow the instructions below to complete a registration form. Unfortunately, NC charter school law prohibits us from giving priority to students on this year's waiting list. We must receive enrollment forms for all students seeking enrollment for the 2010-11 school year.
How To Register:

3. If you have MS Word 2007 or 2009, you may follow the link below, save the form to your computer, complete it, and email it to ghorn@mountaindiscovery.org.

You will not be able to fill out the PDF version of the form. Follow one the links in step three to get to the Word document designed for online response. The 2007 version should be more user friendly. Please use only the PDF for hardcopy submissions.
If your child's fifth birhtday is after August 31 of her/his kindergarten year, please review the MDCS Early Kindergarten Enrollment policy.

From the East:
Take Highway 74 to Bryson City Exit 67. At the end of the exit ramp, head right into town. Go to the second stop light and turn left onto Highway 19W. Continue on Highway 19 approximately a half a mile to the Ingle's Super Market. Directly past Ingle's, turn left onto Hughes Branch Road. Follow Hughes Branch Road for eight tenths of a mile and turn right on the asphalt driveway, marked by the Mountain Discovery Charter School sign. (The driveway looks like a private driveway.) Turn right and follow the drive to the top of the hill.
From the West:
Turn left after you take exit 67. Follow the above directions.
